Science & Robotics
Science at Carden Conejo is designed to spark curiosity and develop a deep understanding of the
world around us. From the earliest grades, students are encouraged to ask questions, test ideas,
and think like scientists. Learning moves beyond textbooks into hands-on investigations, where
children observe, classify, measure, and analyze the natural world. We proudly use the FOSS (Full
Option Science System) curriculum, developed at UC Berkeley, which emphasizes inquiry-based
learning. Instead of passively receiving information, students actively design experiments, record
observations, and draw conclusions. They explore topics in life science, earth science, and physical
science in ways that are developmentally appropriate yet academically rigorous. Each lesson builds
on the last, ensuring that concepts are introduced, revisited, and mastered over time.
Our LEGO® Robotics program brings STEM to life as students design, build, and code their own
creations. Through guided challenges and collaborative projects, children learn the fundamentals of
engineering, programming, and problem-solving while developing creativity, persistence, and
teamwork. This hands-on program makes technology engaging and fun, giving students the
confidence to see themselves as innovators. By connecting science to everyday life, Carden Conejo
makes STEM meaningful and memorable. Students not only develop a strong knowledge base, but
also build critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills that serve them across
all subjects. The result is students who see science not as a subject to memorize, but as a way of
understanding and engaging with the world—preparing them to innovate, lead, and thrive in a
rapidly changing future.
