Technology & Digital Literacy
Technology is thoughtfully integrated into the learning experience to prepare students for a
world driven by innovation and collaboration. From the earliest grades, students build
foundational digital literacy through structured lessons in typing, Microsoft Office, and Google
Workspace, developing the fluency to navigate digital tools with ease and purpose.
As their skills grow, students move beyond basic computer use into creative problem-solving,
coding simple programs, designing digital presentations, and exploring the principles of robotics.
Through hands-on learning with LEGO Robotics and interactive Smartboards, students learn to
think logically, experiment, and persevere through trial and error.
Students use Chromebooks to research, design, and present ideas, working together on projects
that blend innovation with academic learning. Each year, new layers of technology and robotics
are introduced, allowing students to explore automation, engineering concepts, and digital
citizenship. By the end of 5th Grade, Carden students are confident digital citizens capable of
using technology responsibly, solving problems creatively, and thinking critically about the tools
shaping their world.
