Friday Assemblies
Friday is a special day at Carden Conejo School!
Parents are welcome at Friday Assemblies and are encouraged to attend each week to support their children
and the entire community. Please make sure all cell phones are set on silent mode. Assemblies start at
8:30am in the gym and typically last 20-30 minutes. Longer assemblies (typically around various holidays)
can last up to an hour.
Assemblies start with the Pledge of Allegiance in English and in French, followed by a patriotic song,
announcements, and contributions from various classes.
Preschool and TK students often join assemblies in the second half of the school year. Dedicated Preschool
and TK assemblies start at 9:45am and are typically followed by a class party. All families will be notified if
their child will be performing at an assembly.
During the second half of the school year, students in 1st Grade - 5th Grade will have the opportunity to earn a
special Busy Bee and/or Happy Heart Award. These awards recognize students who show exceptional effort
in their schoolwork and consistent kindness, respect, and integrity in their daily interactions.
Please refrain from talking and help younger siblings to be quiet so that all may hear the contribution of each
class. Assemblies conclude with our school prayer. Parents can wave goodbye to their students but may not
follow them back to class. For parents who wish to take videos or pictures of their children on stage, please
stand behind all the student chairs, sit on the ground in front of the student chairs, or sit down the aisle.
Parents may not sit in the student chairs, as they can block the view of the students behind them.
