2025-2026 Parent Handbook FINAL - Flipbook - Page 34
Snack & Lunch
In mid-morning, all classes will have a short recess and enjoy a snack brought from home. To ensure the
snack will not spoil the child’s appetite for learning and lunch, please send wholesome food. Candy is not
allowed. Please do not send too much food. We want to ensure the children are able to both finish their
snack and play outside. Please remind students to clean up after themselves - all trash should be thrown in a
trash receptacle.
All students must bring lunch from home or purchase lunch from our lunch providers, Bailee’s Plate and
BrightBelly. Parents should ensure their children’s lunch is healthy and balanced. Candy is not allowed.
Lunches from home are not able to be refrigerated. Lunches from home should be brought in a bag and
placed in the child’s locker or remain in their backpack until lunchtime. For K-5th Grade students, lunch foods
are able to be microwaved, but only if brought in microwave-safe containers. Preschool students will not
have the ability to have their lunch warmed up. K-5th Grade students will not be allowed to microwave their
food on their own. Teachers are able to microwave lunches, when asked. .
All food except food from Bailee’s Plate must accompany each child to school in the morning. Children who
arrive knowing that their basic needs are met will be able to attend to the learning and enjoyment that are
scheduled for each day. Waiting and wondering about food can be a distraction to the learning day. Lunch
and snack will be enjoyed either outside, or in the classroom or cafeteria (depending on weather and space
availability).
Restaurant food and food deliveries (i.e. DoorDash, Postmates, etc.) are strictly prohibited.
Students should bring a clean and reusable water bottle each day. They may be refilled at our water
fountains and bottle fillers, as needed.
