School Uniforms
Philosophy, Purpose, & General Expectations
The Carden Conejo School uniform is an integral part of our academic culture. It promotes unity, modesty,
discipline, and pride in the School community. The uniform reduces distraction, minimizes social comparison,
reinforces personal responsibility, and fosters an environment focused on learning rather than appearance.
Students are expected to wear the uniform with dignity and care, recognizing that they represent the School
at all times while on campus and at school-sponsored events. Compliance with the uniform policy is
mandatory. Students must arrive on campus in complete and proper uniform each day unless otherwise
designated as a school-approved free dress day. Uniforms must be clean, properly fitted, in good repair, and
worn as designed. Clothing that is faded, torn, altered beyond original style, excessively tight, excessively
loose, or otherwise unkempt is not considered acceptable. All uniform items must be official approved pieces
purchased through designated uniform vendors or the School’s authorized resale program.
Daily Uniform & Assembly Uniform
Students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade wear designated classroom uniforms Monday through
Thursday and a formal Assembly uniform on Fridays or other designated formal occasions. Assembly
uniform days require full compliance with blazer, tie, dress shoes, and appropriate socks or tights as
prescribed by grade level. Assembly attire reflects the School’s tradition of formality and respect for
ceremony. Students who are out of compliance on Assembly days may be removed from Assembly or
required to change clothing if feasible.
