Community Standards & Expectations
Carden Conejo School is committed to maintaining an environment in which every person on campus is
treated with dignity, respect, and kindness. We are a community that takes pride in listening thoughtfully,
supporting one another’s academic and personal growth, and contributing positively and confidently to
society. All members of the Carden Conejo community — students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors —
share responsibility for upholding these standards.
Community Expectations
Members of the Carden Conejo community are expected to:
Adhere to all School rules, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrate honor, integrity, personal responsibility, and respect.
Maintain appropriate behavior toward others at all times, both on campus and at School-sponsored
events.
Communicate in an honorable, constructive manner — verbally, in writing, and digitally.
Prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of others when making decisions.
Foster a positive culture of encouragement, support, and collaboration.
Listen respectfully to differing opinions and perspectives.
Respect the privacy and property of others and of the School.
Cultivate appropriate and ethical relationships within the School community.
Behavior that undermines these expectations or interferes with the School’s mission will not be tolerated.
Parent Partnership & Conduct
A respectful and collaborative partnership between families and the School is essential to a student’s
success. Parents and guardians are expected to engage constructively with School leadership, faculty, staff,
and other families. The School reserves the right to take appropriate action — including suspension,
dismissal, or non-renewal of enrollment — if, in the sole discretion of the Head of School, a parent or
guardian:
Undermines the authority of School personnel
Spreads misinformation or false allegations
Harasses, intimidates, or disparages staff, families, or students
Refuses to comply with School policies or procedures
Disrupts School operations
Fails to follow safety or security protocols
Engages in conduct that is uncooperative, unreasonable, or harmful to the School community
Makes it difficult to maintain a constructive and positive working relationship
The School may also take action if the behavior of any individual interacting with the School by virtue of their
relationship to a student compromises the School’s ability to maintain a safe, respectful, and missionaligned environment.
Enforcement
Carden Conejo School will not tolerate conduct that runs counter to its values or interferes with its
educational mission. All reported violations will be reviewed, and appropriate consequences may be
administered. Consequences may include corrective action, probation, suspension, dismissal of a student, or
termination of employment, depending on the severity and impact of the conduct. The School reserves the
right, in its sole discretion, to interpret and enforce these standards in the best interest of the School
community.
