Our Vision ry
A Vassar graduate with a Master’s in Education from Columbia University, Miss Mae Carden developed her
method with a deep belief that children learn best when teaching is thoughtful, purposeful, and joyful. She
believed that learning should feel engaging and meaningful, that language should be clear and carefully taught,
and that every child deserves to be guided with patience, respect, and care. Her work led to the creation of a
warm, structured approach to learning that honors childhood while laying strong foundations for future growth.
In our preschool program, the Carden Method gently nurtures curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning from
the very start. Through rich language experiences, early literacy foundations, and meaningful play, children begin
to develop clarity of thought, independence, and strong communication skills in a developmentally appropriate
way. Each child is seen as a unique individual, supported and celebrated as they grow socially, emotionally, and
academically.
Guided by the core values of kindness, respect, and integrity, Carden Conejo School honors Mae Carden’s legacy.
With small class sizes, nurturing teachers, and a whole-child approach, our school remains a joyful, safe
environment where children feel confident to explore, imagine, and discover, building the foundation for a lifelong
love of learning.
