Immuniz tions
Carden Conejo School is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment for all students.
Immunizations play a critical role in protecting individual children and the broader school community from
preventable communicable diseases. In accordance with California law and public health regulations, all
students must provide documentation of required immunizations prior to the first day of attendance.
Students may not begin school without submission of complete and compliant immunization records, unless
a valid medical exemption is on file as permitted by state law.
Required Immunizations
Students must provide documentation demonstrating compliance with all immunization requirements
mandated by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for private school attendance. Required
immunizations generally include, but may not be limited to:
Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (DTaP/Tdap)
Polio
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
Hepatitis B
Varicella (Chickenpox)
Immunization requirements are subject to change in accordance with state law. Families are responsible for
ensuring that immunizations remain current and for providing updated documentation as necessary.
Medical Exemptions
Medical exemptions must comply with current California state requirements and must be issued by a
licensed physician through the state-approved medical exemption system. The School will not accept
personal belief exemptions unless expressly permitted by law. The School reserves the right to verify the
validity of any medical exemption documentation submitted.
Communicable Disease Exclusion
In the event of an outbreak of a vaccine-preventable disease, students who are not fully immunized may be
excluded from campus for the duration of the outbreak as directed by public health authorities. Such
exclusions may occur regardless of exemption status and may extend for the period recommended by public
health officials. Tuition obligations remain in effect during any exclusion period.
Health & Disclosure Responsibility
Parents are responsible for disclosing any medical conditions that may impact a student’s health, immune
status, or vulnerability to communicable diseases. The School relies on families to provide accurate and
complete health information to support a safe environment. The School reserves the right to implement
additional health and safety measures in response to public health guidance, evolving medical standards, or
emergent health risks.
