Zero Tolerance: Threats & Weapons
Carden Conejo School is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all students, faculty,
staff, and visitors. The School maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding weapons, threats of
violence, and prohibited substances.
Any behavior that compromises the physical safety or emotional security of the School community will be
addressed immediately and decisively.
Weapons
The possession, use, display, or concealment of any weapon on campus, at School-sponsored events, or
during School-related activities is strictly prohibited. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
Firearms of any kind (real, unloaded, or inoperable)
Ammunition
Knives of any size, including pocket knives
Explosives or incendiary devices
BB guns, pellet guns, airsoft guns
Imitation or replica weapons
Tasers or stun guns
Pepper spray or chemical defense sprays
Martial arts weapons
Any object used or intended to be used as a weapon
The School reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether an item constitutes a weapon or
poses a safety risk.
Threats & Intimidation
Threats of violence, whether verbal, written, digital, symbolic, or implied, are taken extremely seriously. This
includes:
Threatening to harm another person
Statements suggesting violence toward the School community
Violent drawings or writings
Online posts referencing violence
Intimidation, coercion, or violent gestures
