Crest & Motto
The emblem of our school was bestowed upon us by Miss Mae Carden,
founder of the Carden educational method. At the base of the shield,
the Latin motto Fide et Amore (Faith and Love) represents the two
enduring virtues upon which our school was founded: faith in oneself
and in others, and a love for God, learning, and life. Together, these
values inspire an appreciation for all that is beautiful, purposeful, and
worthwhile. The Fleur-de-Lys upon the shield signifies nobility of
character. Rising above the red and white book, it reflects the belief
that true nobility and strength of character are cultivated through
study, reflection, and the pursuit of knowledge grounded in classical
literature. The red, white, and blue of the emblem honor the colors of
our nation’s flag and symbolize our love for country, unity of purpose,
and devotion to excellence. Together, these elements embody the spirit
of the Carden tradition. A legacy of faith, intellect, and character that
continues to guide our students to learn with joy and lead with purpose.
Flower

Miss Mae Carden chose the daisy to be the flower representing
Carden schools because to her the white petals represented purity
and the yellow center is seen as a heart of gold. Miss Carden honored
it this way because daisies are plentiful and can be found everywhere it is not exclusive!
Mascot
The word Cavalier comes from the Latin caballus (meaning horse) and
the Italian cavaliere (meaning horseman). From the Middle Ages into
the early modern period, a Cavalier was not a knight, but a mounted
soldier or gentleman rider, skilled on horseback and trained for
mobility, leadership, and combat. By the 16th–17th centuries, Cavaliers
were associated with professional cavalry rather than armored
medieval knights, reflecting a shift toward discipline, strategy, and
coordination on the battlefield. Historically, Cavaliers were defined
not just by strength, but by how they carried themselves. Over time,
the word evolved beyond its military meaning to describe a way of
carrying oneself: poised, principled, and self-assured. Cavaliers are
known for their courage, loyalty, and deep sense of honor, guided by a
strong moral code and respect for others. More than warriors, they
were leaders…confident yet humble, bold yet thoughtful...who
believed that true strength is shown through integrity, sportsmanship,
and service. As a mascot, the Cavalier represents the values we strive
to instill in our students: character before competition, confidence
grounded in kindness, and leadership marked by responsibility,
respect, and care for the community.
