Exploratory Courses
As we prepare to launch Carden Conejo’s Middle School, we are thoughtfully developing a range of exploratory
classes designed to help students discover new interests, strengthen practical skills, and deepen their academic
growth. We intentionally refer to these courses as exploratory rather than traditional electives because they are
meant to give students meaningful exposure to new disciplines and experiences, allowing them to uncover
potential passions, talents, and callings they may not yet realize they have. The initial set of exploratory classes
for our inaugural Sixth Grade class was selected directly from an in-class student survey and guided
discussions, ensuring that these offerings reflect the genuine interests and curiosities of our current students.
These courses will continue to evolve throughout the Middle School experience as we learn more about the
passions and goals of each incoming class, but our vision is to offer a balanced selection of offerings that foster
intellectual curiosity and creativity, giving students the opportunity to discover their unique gifts.
